Warrington Town welcome Brackley Town to the Cal.Delivery Stadium this Saturday in their penultimate home fixture of the National League North season.
The Yellows' 1-0 defeat away at Curzon Ashton last weekend confirmed their relegation back to the Northern Premier League after two years at Step 2.
This weekend, they host high-flying Brackley Town, who have finished in the play-off places in the last seven consecutive completed seasons. The Saints sit one point away from the current league leaders Scunthorpe United in third place, and they will be hoping for an important three points in WA4 in their bid to claim the National League North title.
Below, we've compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.
A decision will be made on the day about skipper Josh Amis, who was forced out of last weekend’s game against Curzon Ashton in the warm-up, having had pain-killing injections in his knee the previous week.
Dana Amaral and Sam Gill are both back in contention for selection after recent knocks, as is Jay Harris.
Hamish Douglas was recalled by Rotherham in midweek and made his Football League debut for them against Bolton on Tuesday night.
Warrington Town forward Joe Rodwell-Grant has urged his team-mates to show pride for the shirt as they look to say farewell to the National League North on a positive note.
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Curzon Ashton signalled the end of the Yellows’ time at Step 2, relegation bringing to an end a two-season stay in the division.
With four games remaining, the challenge now becomes giving the supporters cause for optimism heading into the summer - something which Rodwell-Grant insists must start on Saturday at home to Brackley Town.
He said: “After the Curzon game, Cards told us that we needed to all stick together.
“All the players were thinking that too, and from our point of view, we're playing for our pride now. We've got to go out there and try our best, like we have been doing all season.
“Results haven't been going our way, and that's one of the reasons why we're in this position, but none of us are going to give up trying to do the right things.
“We’ll give everything we can to win games of football. It's not been the best of seasons, but we can only keep trying.”
