Preview: Hebburn Town vs Warrington Town

Warrington Town are on the road in the Northern Premier League tomorrow as they make the trip north-east to Hebburn Town.

The Yellows will go in search of a fifth consecutive win in all competitions, and their fourth in the league, following their midweek 2-1 victory over Ashton United.

Paul Carden's side will make the 324-mile round trip to South Tyneside this weekend to face Hebburn Town.

The two sides last met in October 2022, when an emphatic strike from Josh Amis and a last-minute penalty from Sean Williams saw Town progress through to the FA Trophy first round with a 2-1 victory.

Below, we've compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Team news

Troy Bourne is a doubt after going off on Tuesday night with a hamstring strain, and sat out of Thursday's training session.

Matty Tweedley is still sidelined, alongside long-term absentees Josh Amis, Scott Butler, David Morgan, Kallan Murphy and Elliot Morris.

Paul Carden preview

Warrington Town manager Paul Carden insists that his side must not become complacent with their recent string of good results as they look to maintain the run with a tough away trip to Hebburn Town.

Despite their excellent form at home, the Yellows have only managed to pick up a single point from a possible 18 on the road this season.

It's a stat Carden is well aware of, and one that he will be keen to rectify with his side's newfound confidence.

"The way we’ve been over the last 10 or 12 days has been outstanding, and I can’t praise the lads enough, but it’s just a start," Carden said.

"We’ve got to maintain it and keep doing what we’re doing – there will be bumps in the road, but we’ve got to make sure we’re right and ready for those times.

"We’ve won three league games, which is good form, especially from where we’ve been, but nobody has a divine right.

"You can win three or four games and be right up there, but you can also lose three or four and be right down there.

"We’ve got to concentrate on ourselves, keep working on things and keep enjoying it.

"We’ve had some dark days this season, but we’re still only in October, so there’s a long way to go.

"We’ll try our best to maintain what we’re doing. We’ve got a tough game on Saturday with a bit of a journey, but we’re going there in confident form."
