Yellows sign Fleetwood Town goalkeeper on loan

Warrington Town have drafted in Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Luke Hewitson on loan to cover for the injured Liam Isherwood.

Hewitson, 21, came through the academy ranks at Liverpool before joining the Football League side on a two-year deal last summer. He has spent time on loan in the Northern Premier League before with Stalybridge Celtic.

He now joins up with Paul Carden’s side ahead of this weekend’s home game against Hednesford Town on a deal that runs until after the game against Bamber Bridge on January 13.

Isherwood suffered a quad injury in the first half of last Saturday’s win at Rushall Olympic, and signalled to come off late in the first half, but played on during the second period, making two vital saves as the Yellows won 3-2. He is expected to be sidelined for around a month.
