The Warrington Town stats archive hit a new milestone recently, with the full details of more than 2,000 matches now logged.
The project has sought to detail every game from the club’s history, including goalscorers and line-ups, to help create accurate appearance and goalscoring records for the thousands of players that have represented the club since its formation in 1949.
The scorer of all but eight of the 6,965 goals the club has scored in the past 76 years are now known, with the hope that the others will be found prior to hitting the milestone of 7,000, which all being well should occur this season.
Of the 3,608 games played, now more than 2,000 have the full line-ups logged.
This includes every single game dating back to 1999. A significant number of games in the 1980s and 1990s are also logged, with a few gaps in each season that work continues to fill.
A total of 14 players have notched more than 200 appearances for the Yellows, though of course there may be a handful more if and when we can find information from the early years.
Dave Tickle is out in front as the clear leader, playing 357 times for the Yellows between 1998 and 2009, while Neil Cook has 246 currently logged between 1983 and 1997, though there are undoubtedly more games he played in that we are still seeking the full line-ups for.
You can view the career records of all players here.
The stats archive has a page for every game in the club’s history, including the line-up, scorers, match details and where possible, attendance and match report. There is also a page for each player, detailing their appearance record based on known data.
You can view the club’s record against opponents down the years, view games played in every competition it has played in and also look at various record breaking runs, including unbeaten runs, winning runs and games without conceding.
Attendance records, including averages per season, hat-trick heroes and an on this day function also allows you to delve further in to the club’s history.
