Talented forward Elliot Morris joins Yellows

Warrington Town's frontline has been bolstered with the arrival of talented forward Elliot Morris.

Morris made his debut for the Yellows against Southport in the Liverpool Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

The 26-year-old has been on the club’s radar for several seasons and arrives from City of Liverpool, where he has scored 26 goals in the past 12 months, helping the Purps reach the Northern Premier League West Division play-off final.

Previously with FC United of Manchester, Morris was named in the NPL West Division Team of the Year while he was at Skelmersdale United in 2022/23, finishing as the second highest goalscorer in the division.

"I'm really excited and delighted to get the move over the line," Morris said.

"I initially spoke to Cards earlier in the season and also over the past few days prior to signing, and I had some really positive chats and knew it was the right move for me at this stage.

"Warrington Town are a big club going in the right direction, with a great fan base too, so I'm really looking forward to hitting the ground running."

On the new arrival, manager Paul Carden said: "I felt we lacked that player to stretch the game. It's something that you need, and everyone we play against has got someone like that.

"He can get down the sides, whether that's running onto throughballs or through his own ability. He's clever with his movement, so he gives you another option in attack.

"He reminds me a little bit of Jack Mackreth and how he used to play.

"With Elliot, he can definitely score goals and make goals for us. We'll be looking forward to when he's fully available."
