Preview: Stockton Town vs Warrington Town

Warrington Town make the trip to the north-east this Saturday as they face Stockton Town in the Northern Premier League.

The Yellows extended their unbeaten league run to three games following last weekend's goalless draw against league leaders Hebburn Town at the Cal.Delivery Stadium.

With seven points separating them from a spot in the play-offs, Paul Carden knows that every game from now until the end of the season is a must-win.

This weekend, they travel to face a Stockton Town side keen to retake their place back in the top five. The Anchors currently sit two points adrift of Gainsborough Trinity in 5th place, and with both teams harbouring aspirations of reaching the play-offs, it's shaping up to be a mouthwatering clash.

Below, we've compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture

Team news

Devarn Green departed the club on Monday to take up an opportunity at Stafford Rangers in the NPL West Division.

There were no fresh injury concerns for Paul Carden following last Saturday's draw against Hebburn Town.

Paul Carden preview

Warrington Town manager Paul Carden insists that his team will fight to the very end as they head into their final six fixtures of the season.

The Yellows sit seven points adrift of the play-offs, and this weekend they come up against a team with their own ambitions of reaching the top five in Stockton Town.

Despite it being an uphill battle, Carden believes that his side owes it to the Town faithful to keep battling on, as a way of showing appreciation for their incredible support this season.

"The goal is to win as many as we can," Carden said following last weekend's goalless stalemate against Hebburn Town.

"We don't want to peter out into nothing - there are still points to play for, and we want to win as many games as we can.

"I said to the players that the fans have been with us no matter what this season, and it's important that we give them something to shout about.

"Whether that's here [at home] or on the road, it's important that we do so because they have stuck by us, they've been top supporters, and even today [against Hebburn], they're saying well done to the players, but it feels like we didn't do enough today."
