Preview: Stockport Town vs Warrington Town

Warrington Town continue their Cheshire Senior Cup journey tonight as they travel to face Stockport Town in the second round of the competition.

It's a change of competition for the Yellows, who will be aiming to maintain their excellent run of form after they extended their winning run to three games following Saturday's 4-1 victory away at Hyde United.

It will be a first-ever meeting between the two sides, with Stockport Town founded in 2014, although the Yellows have played at their Lambeth Grove ground before against the now-defunct Woodley Sports.

The Yellows beat Tranmere 6-0 in the first round, while Stockport defeated Hyde United 4-1.

Below, we've compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Team news

Defender Harry Flowers, who was announced as the club's latest signing on Sunday, is expected to make his first start for the club this evening as he continues to build his match fitness following a long-term injury.

A number of the club's Under-21s players are likely to feature this evening, as are several first-team fringe players.

Paul Carden preview

Warrington Town manager Paul Carden insists that his side must maintain their momentum as they prepare to face Stockton Town in the Cheshire Senior Cup.

A number of players from the Under-21s squad are expected to start this evening, alongside several first-team fringe players, and Carden is hopeful that his side can utilise their confidence to progress into the next round of the competition.

"We've got a few [first-team players] who will be playing," Carden said.

"We'll top that up with a couple of lads who've trained with us, and also lads from the Under-21s.

"We want to continue winning, we want to keep players sharp, and it's important that we go there with the right attitude to keep winning.

"It doesn't matter who we're playing, where we're playing or who's playing. As a club, we just want to keep winning football matches."
