Defender Harry Flowers made his Yellows debut at Hyde United, having linked up with the club recently.
Flowers, 29, has been sidelined for the past 15 months through injury but got through 45 minutes unscathed in the 4-1 win after coming on for Chris Doyle.
A former Burnley junior, Flowers played under Paul Carden at Telford and has spent much of his career in the National League North playing for Southport, Curzon Ashton, Brackley Town and Kidderminster Harriers.
Standing at 6’5, Flowers came in to add cover and challenge for a place at centre-back, with Scott Butler and Troy Bourne both currently sidelined through injury, and Evan Gumbs only just returning from a long-term injury.
Carden said: “Harry has been out for a long time. He ruptured his achilles in pre-season during the summer of 2024 at Southport, and he’s been working to get fit and built it right up because it’s not an easy one to recover from, being 6’5 and the way he plays.
“He’s back fit and he’s back at it. He phoned me up saying he needs to get going, he needs to play. I signed him for Telford from Curzon and so I know him really well, I know the type of character he is.
“He knows where he stands. He knows that we’ve got centre-halves who at the club already who are injured, but I felt it was important to bring cover in when it was offered to us as I know how good Harry can be.
“And as we saw when Chris Doyle went off, he’ll be a big signing for us.”
Flowers will feature in the Cheshire Senior Cup tie away at Stockport Town on Monday.
