The Yellows are in midweek action as they travel to the Autoworld Arena to face Matlock Town.
Here’s the latest preview…
The Yellows head into the fixture following a 1-0 victory over Whitby Town, with substitute Tony Gray breaking the deadlock in the 78th minute.
The victory improved Warrington’s position in the league table to sixth-place, just two points behind a play-off spot.
The club also drew Ashton United in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy at Cantilever Park.
Matlock Town recently secured three league points after an impressive 3-1 victory over Mickleover Sports, with goals from Dan Bramall, Luke Hinsley and Sam Scrivens.
The Gladiators are fourth in the BetVictor league table.
In the 2018/19 season, Matlock took the first victory of that season in October, which ended the Yellows’ 14-game unbeaten run thanks to a Craig King first half goal which ensured his side took a 1-0 victory at Cantilever Park.
The score ended the Yellows’ run of 15 hours of league football without conceding a goal.
In the same fixture last year, the Yellows claimed a 2-0 victory at the Autoworld Arena with goals from Tony Gray and Jack Dunn.
Ahead of the fixture, Manager Carden said: “It was good to get back to winning ways over the weekend. It felt like a long time, to be honest.
“I thought the way we played, we deserved the three points. We were very good in the first half and had a couple of chances. In the second half, we showed resilience to make sure we kept the clean sheet which we did.
“There were a few results on Saturday that were surprising. Anyone can beat anyone in this league.
“Another tough game tonight,” he continued.
“We go into it confident after the last couple of performances but mindful that they’re going to pose a threat. They’re a physical side who know the division and have a lot of experience so we need to be mindful of that but also be sure that we’re on the money and we apply our strengths to their weaknesses.”
Bohan Dixon, Steven Jennings and Matthew Chadwick are all unavailable.
