After a two-week break, Warrington Town return to action on Saturday as they make the short trip to Chorley in the National League North.
Paul Carden will take charge of his first game since returning as manager when the Yellows travel to Victory Park.
Chorley have enjoyed a successful start to their 2024/25 campaign, sitting in 4th place after picking up 16 points from the opening nine fixtures, whereas Town are without a win in five league outings, but a victory against an in-form Magpies side could be the catalyst they need to kick-start their season.
Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.
Warrington Town have been bolstered by the signing of defender Hamish Douglas, who joined the club on an initial one-month loan from Rotherham United on Friday.
The 19-year-old centre-back will go straight into contention to make his debut for the Yellows against Chorley.
Captain Josh Amis will also be available for selection in the matchday squad for the first time in the 2024/25 campaign after recovering from shoulder surgery, while defender Peter Clarke remains on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
Newly returning Warrington Town manager Paul Carden is hopeful that his side can get back to their best as they look to rally around their new boss.
With the two-week break in between action, Carden has had a chance to assess his squad and believes that a simple approach is all that is required to get them back to the levels that he knows they can display.
“I watched [the Spennymoor Town] game back and I know how the majority of the players play, so I know what their capabilities are,” Carden said.
“I’m not here to reinvent the wheel. It’s never been my style to try and be something I’m not.
“The encouragement the players will get from me is the same message as what’s been before, and that’s to play to their strengths and to their teammates’ strengths, and give your all.
“If we can do that and match it with support from the crowd, which I know will happen, we won’t be far away from winning a lot more games than we don’t.”
