Max Thompson joins club on permanent basis

Warrington Town are delighted to confirm the permanent signing of striker Max Thompson.

Thompson, 23, has scored four goals in as many games for the Yellows while on dual-registration from Chorley and has now penned a deal to move to the Cal.Delivery Stadium.

He scored two in the 4-1 win away at Hyde United, bagged in the home win over FC United and Manchester and scored the opener in last week’s draw at Workington.

His debut for the Yellows was back in September at home to Rushall Olympic.

Formerly with Burnley and Sunderland, Thompson spent eight years of his youth at Manchester United and also had time at Everton.

He made a solitary appearance in the Premier League while at Burnley, coming on as a substitute in a game against Manchester City, before moving to Sunderland for an undisclosed fee.

Thompson will look to continue his goalscoring run in Saturday’s home game against Morpeth Town.
