Warrington Town manager Mark Beesley has labelled Saturday’s remarkable 1-0 victory over play-off rivals Bamber Bridge as their best performance of the season.
Despite a sending-off for midfielder Sean Williams inside the opening 30 seconds of the contest, the Yellows dug deep to extend their unbeaten run to 16 matches.
Beesley’s side created the better chances and saw their efforts rewarded on 82 minutes when Bohan Dixon struck the game’s only goal.
“I think that’s the best performance of the season from our point of view,” Beesley said post-match.

“To go down to 10 men after 30 seconds and to limit a good footballing team – I can’t remember our keeper making any saves and we had the best chances.
“It’s an unbelievable performance from 1-11 and the subs who came on. I couldn’t ask for any more.”
Discussing how the second half unfolded, he added: “I thought it was going to be the same story as Tuesday night.
“We had chance after chance and their keeper was probably their best player again, even though we had 10 men.
“It’s a credit to the players and how much they dug in for each other.
“That team spirit and extra little motivation can make up for one man. We played the other day against 10 men and opened them up time and time again, so we’ve got both sides.
“We have to keep going. It’s a win, and seven points in a week is a good week. It should’ve been nine, we all know that, but we can’t turn the clock back and we’ve got to go again.”

Beesley also gave his view on the early decision which saw the Yellows reduced to 10 men after Williams’ foul on Paul Dawson.
He said: “It was a poor decision. Sean has gone to win a tackle and win the ball, and their lad has got there before him.
“It’s a foul, possibly a booking, but to send him off is a shocking decision. He clearly got it wrong.
“That decision could cost us because we’re going to miss a very important player for three games.”
