Elliot Morris looks ahead to Scunthorpe clash

Warrington Town forward Elliot Morris insists the squad is fully committed to rectifying their current situation as they head deeper into the business end of the season.

It has been difficult going of late against teams in and around the Yellows in the table, with Paul Carden’s side earning a share of the spoils against Farsley Celtic before succumbing to a late 2-1 defeat away at Needham Market last time out.

With Town’s winless run in the league now standing at six games, they face the tough prospect of needing a result against Scunthorpe United in their bid to overturn their recent run of form.

Despite the challenge ahead of them, Morris believes that while the team are ready to give it their all when the Iron visit WA4 this weekend, they are counting on the support of the fans to help get them over the line.

“It's definitely one of the games you look out for in the fixture list,” he said.

“But equally, we're under no illusions that every game between now until the end of the season is crucial.

“We’ll make sure we are ready to give it our all again, come 3pm on Saturday. We know as a group, from players to staff, what needs to be done, and we’re 100% committed and up for the battle.

“Every single person in that dressing room wants to put things right.

“I must give credit to the supporters. We saw them travel in numbers on Saturday, and we owe them one after coming out on the wrong side of the result against Needham Market.

“We’re going to need that support and extra man behind us again this weekend.”
