Dylan Vassallo has signed a new deal to commit his future to Warrington Town.
Vassallo, 21, was the Northern Premier League’s Young Player of the Year in 2018, and scored in last season’s play-off final victory over South Shields.
One of Paul Carden’s first signings at the club, Vassallo has always attracted interest from clubs higher up the football pyramid, and spent time on trial with Football League clubs last summer.
His new deal is a timely boost for Carden, as he continues to wait for news on midfielder Ben Garrity, who is attracting interest from the Football League.
The youngster was the find of the season and though he has been offered a new deal by the Yellows, he has expressed a desire to go full-time.
Of last season’s squad, only Garrity and left-back Alex Whittle are yet to confirm their intentions for next season.
James McCarten, Connor McCarthy, Mitch Duggan, Dom Reid and Russell Benjamin will all be back for pre-season.
There have just been three outgoings, with Marcus Cusani, Adam Hughes and Robbie Evans already having confirmed their departures from the club.
The Yellows aren’t expecting to make many new signings this summer, and may wait until closer to the start of the season as clubs higher up the food chain finalise their squads, meaning more players become available.
