Warrington Town top scorer Reece Daly has signed a new two-year deal to commit his future to the club.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has scored nine goals in his debut season at the Cal.Delivery Stadium after arriving from Chester in the summer.
That included a memorable brace against Lancaster City, and winning goals against Rushall Olympic and Prescot Cables.
Manager Paul Carden said: “It was a top priority. I think everybody’s seen what Reece can be.
"He knows what I’ve set for him over the summer and how he needs to come back, but he definitely was a priority for us because he can be an influential player.
“We’ve seen his quality with his goals. Some of the goals he has scored have been top drawer, and we just need to get him in more positions to do that.
“Reece has had a good season. For a young player to step in, he’s always available, apart from concussion which wasn’t his fault, he doesn’t miss training and that’s what we need.
“He knows what he needs to do to kick on and reach the next level, and we’re delighted he’s committed to us.
“One thing we’ve always tried to do is build around individuals and signing Reece, together with some players who we want to keep here and players I’ve got my eye on at other places, hopefully we can do that.”
Daly, who has started in 32 games this season, is currently sponsored by Brookson.
On his new deal, he said: “I’ve loved my time here so far to be honest. Everything I’ve spoke to Cards about playing with confidence and how Cards has been with me really, that was a big impact on my decision.
“This season didn’t start too well, so if we start well as a team and I can start well individually, that’s the aim.
"We need to be pushing for promotion next season as a minimum. I’m excited for next season because I know if we keep some good players that we’ve already got, the foundation is there and we can build from it."
On the fans, he added: “They’re honest, they’ve stuck with us, in times where from our point of view they should be calling us all sorts!
"It’s had a big impact as well on deciding to stay because they’ve been really good for me, good supporting me.”
