Preview: Warrington Town vs King's Lynn Town

Warrington Town gear up for their second home game in three days as they welcome King's Lynn Town to the Cal.Delivery Stadium in the National League North.

The Yellows will be looking to make amends following their disappointing 2-0 defeat to Marine on New Year's Day.

However, it's shaping up to be another tough test for Paul Carden's side. The Linnets are currently in 4th place, three points behind league leaders Curzon Ashton.

Below, we've compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Team news

Midfielder Sam Gill has joined Midland League side Northwich Victoria on loan.

Finn Cross-Adair has returned to parent club Fleetwood Town following the conclusion of his short-term loan deal.

He made six appearances for the Yellows, scoring once in the 3-1 defeat away at Peterborough Sports last month.

Jay Harris and Evan Gumbs will also be assessed ahead of tomorrow's clash against King's Lynn Town.

Paul Carden preview

Warrington Town manager Paul Carden admits that while a fresh approach might be needed to salvage his side's current situation, he believes they have all the necessary components to achieve the task at hand.

The Yellows have succumbed to back-to-back 2-0 defeats at the hands of Southport and, most recently, Marine, and they now face the prospect of going toe-to-toe with one of the division's most in-form sides in King's Lynn Town.

"People will be asking what I’m doing about it and scratching their heads," Carden said.

"It’s not a case of me not doing anything, but clearly what I’m doing isn’t right for the players we’ve got so I’ve got to look at things.

"On paper, there’s a good group of players there but it’s no good on paper if we’re not putting it on the grass.

"We’ve got to keep fighting through it and somehow find a formula that works for us - the games don’t stop and they don’t get any easier.

"At the minute, morale is low and the lads aren’t brimming with confidence, but the only way you get through that is by working and playing to your strengths.

"It’s going to the things you know are tried and trusted for yourselves as a player and as a team.

"I’m gutted and I’m furious, but I’ve been in a tougher situation in this division with a team that isn’t as good as what we’ve got.

"You’ve got to find a way and that’s what we need to do."
