Preview: Warrington Town vs Alfreton Town

Warrington Town gear up for their third fixture in a week as they welcome Alfreton Town to the Cal.Delivery Stadium in the National League North tomorrow afternoon.

The Yellows battled to a point in a 0-0 draw on the road at Brackley Town on Tuesday, following their defeat to South Shields last weekend.

This Saturday's visitors currently sit in 11th, three points behind a place in the top seven, and they will be looking to bounce back from their midweek 3-1 defeat to Peterborough Sports.

Below, we've compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture

Team news

Midfielder Bohan Dixon was absent from the trip to Brackley in midweek, but will go back into contention to feature against Alfreton Town this Saturday.

There were no fresh injury concerns for Paul Carden following Tuesday's draw on the road.

Paul Carden preview

Warrington Town manager Paul Carden is expecting yet another tough encounter  when Alfreton Town visit the Cal.Delivery Stadium this weekend.

The Yellows have only managed to pick up one win from their eight league matches on home soil this season, with their most recent outing ending in a 3-0 defeat to South Shields.

After a strong start to their own campaign, Alfreton have seen their form take a dip, losing three of their previous four fixtures, but Carden has nevertheless warned his side of the danger that they pose.

"Saturday is another tough fixture against another tough side who are always pushing for promotion out of this league," he said.

"They’re notorious for what they do, how they get results and how they play, they’re always effective and have good players to back it up.

"But we focus on us. We’ll do our work as always and we’ll get ourselves in a better position to give ourselves a chance because that’s what we need to do.

"We’re too open at times, looking to play too easy on the eye sometimes and if you get caught and you’re open, then teams and players in this league can punish you – as has been proven.

"So we’ll keep working on shape, being tight and hard to beat because that’s how you get results."
