Warrington Town winger Luke Duffy says his first full season at the club has been a learning curve, but one that will make him a better player in the long run.
Duffy joined from Lower Breck ahead of the 2020/21 season but scored just twice in 11 appearances as his debut season was cut short due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the 2021/22 campaign, however, Duffy developed into an integral part of Town’s first team picture, making 38 appearances in total, with 11 of those coming from the bench.

He also added four more goals during that time as the Yellows made it to the play-off final before losing 2-1 against Scarborough Athletic at the Flamingo Land Stadium.
Duffy admits the climax to the season was a tough pill to swallow, but he insists the club has what it takes to bounce back.
“Personally, I’ve learned a lot this season,” he said. “I’ve played a lot of minutes and I feel I’ve matured a lot as a player.
“It’s hard to get beat in the play-off final but we can only learn from it and take it into our next campaign.

“The standard of the league is high and we all know that there are no easy games. It’s only going to get better with the teams coming up too.
“For now, it’s nice to have a break, recharge and regroup so we can put things right next season.
Duffy was also quick to pay tribute to the Yellows’ loyal fanbase, with up to 600 supporters making the trip to the Yorkshire coast to cheer on Mark Beesley’s side in the concluding game of the 2021/22 campaign.
“The fans have been brilliant, especially in the final,” Duffy added.
“Fair play to them; they’ve travelled up and down the country to watch us, no matter the day. They’re a credit to the town.”
