Josh Amis says he has “unfinished business” as the popular striker re-signs for the Pitching In Northern Premier League 2021/22 season.
Amis joined the Yellows in 2018 and has scored 22 goals under manager Paul Carden, including the winning goal in the Northern Premier League play-off final against South Shields in 2019.
The 26-year-old put pen to paper that will keep him at the club for the 2021/22 season, having spent time in the Welsh Premier League with Flint Town United following last season’s curtailment.
Now, Amis is looking forward to another season at Cantilever Park.
He said: “I just feel like we as a team have unfinished business. Everything about the club is great. I’ve been here a few years now and know what it’s all about.
“I can’t wait to get back going. There were other teams interested, but when I spoke to Cards I was set on staying and hoping to help the team get promoted.
“I’ve really enjoyed working with Cards and Bees (Mark Beesley). They are both approachable and I feel like they’ve helped me develop over the last few years and looking forward to another season with them.”
Recent lockdown easing announcements will mean that Warrington Town will head into the new season with full capacity permitted, with more than 50% of last season’s total having already renewed their tickets, as well as several new supporters signing up.
On the return of supporters, Amis said: “It will be massive to have fans back, not just for the lads but for the club as well. It’s been a hard couple of years for everyone, so it will be nice to see some familiar faces in the ground supporting the lads.”
