Work continues to go on at Cantilever Park ahead of the deadline of April 30 and the club wanted to provide an update.
As previously reported, the club was granted an extension past the initial deadline of the end of March for a variety of reasons, though the progress made was noted.
The roof has now been installed on the new stand at the away end, which had previously had to be re-made. There will be further work to box in the bottom elements of the stand.

A standing terrace to sit alongside the all-seater stand is due to be delivered for installation to complete the away end, and there is other groundwork ongoing to complete the facilities. The snack bar, kiosk and toilets have previously been installed and used at the last few home games.
Additional work has been ongoing on the far side of the ground towards the 3G end to create additional standing areas and levels to assist with ground capacity and improve the fan experience. This will also be a pre-cursor to possible future developments of standing areas around the ground.
Other standing areas have been created, including in front of the club shop, which have also required further steel handrails to be installed – handrails now run from this corner of the ground up to the dugouts.
A change in requirements regarding exit gates has meant further work was required alongside the social club where the silver gates are situated. A section of the canopy on the social club has needed to be removed to accommodate the relocation of the silver gates, which will go alongside the new four-berth turnstile block. This change has also required the removal of some walls and the levelling of some pathways to ensure safe access. The removal of the canopy will also facilitate the relocation of a required mobile building.

Although the additional work has created further time pressures, the club is confident of meeting the requirements ahead of the deadline.
We would like to pay tribute and thanks to all of the people who have helped in recent days.
All of this work has needed to be done alongside our wider planning for the club, including preparing for the 2024/25 season with sponsorship, season tickets, new kits and youth pathways.
