Bennett departs

Defender Murphy Bennett has left Warrington Town in search of regular first team football.

The 20-year-old was one of the few survivors in the squad for last season, but saw his early season disrupted by a three-match suspension following his red card in the final game in National League North.

That has limited the former Forest Green man to just one start and two substitute appearances this term, and the form of James Melhado and impending return of Evan Gumbs has seen him make a request to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Bennett, who was sponsored by Jerry Liversidge, leaves having made a total of 34 appearances.

Everyone at the club thanks Murph for his efforts for the Yellows and wish him all the best for the future.

Meanwhile, following a change in circumstances, recent signing Jonas Mukuna has also left the club.

He made a solitary appearance as a substitute in the defeat away at Gainsborough Trinity.

The Yellows have a third successive Saturday without a game this weekend, but return to action for the first time in 18 days next Saturday (October 4th) with a trip to Hyde United in the FA Trophy.
