PLAY-OFF chasing Warrington Town and Whitby Town had to settle for a point each in a goalless draw at Cantilever Park.
Neither side did enough to win a game that was disrupted by four first half substitutions, two for either side, all due to injury.
Both sides hit the woodwork in the second half, Marcus Giles striking the outside of a post for Whitby shortly after the interval and Matt Regan heading against the crossbar in the closing stages as the hosts pushed for a winner.
An early chance for Bohan Dixon was skied over for the hosts, while Dan Atherton made a fine one-handed save to his left to deny Liam Cooke having been wrong-footed by a deflection off Mark Roberts and a superb tackle by Matt Regan denied Giles after he had robbed and rounded Atherton.
Roberts and centre half partner Mitch Duggan were solid for the hosts, as were their Whitby counterparts Jonathan Burn and Lewis Ritson, as well as Daniel Rowe who stood in when Ritson went off injured.
The first player to go off was Yellows left-back Eddie Clarke after 14 minutes, and he was joined by Dom Reid on the half hour mark after a sickening clash of heads with Cooke left him with blood pouring from a cut.
Ritson tried to play on initially but eventually hobbled off after a collision with Amis five minutes before the break and then Cooke, perhaps still feeling the after effects of the collision with Reid, also went off.
Whitby’s top scorer Jacob Hazel, who had an entertaining battle with Roberts throughout, crashed a shot over early in the second half and then Giles managed to dig out a shot under pressure from inside the box that hit the outside of the post.
A fine Roberts block denied Hazel from close range, and at the other end, Burn stood firm in the goalmouth to deny a goal bound Duggan swipe from a corner.
Regan leapt highest to nod a Williams corner on to the crossbar as both teams pushed for a late winner, with Hazel having a shot tipped wide deep into injury time.
The result means the two sides remain in sixth and fifth place respectively.
