Warrington Town are delighted to announce the signing of former Altrincham goalkeeper Tony Thompson.
Thompson made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Robins last season as they secured a 14th-placed finish in the Vanarama National League.
The 27-year-old is a former team-mate of Yellows midfielder Sean Williams, who was confirmed to be staying in the club’s recently-announced retention list.

Thompson will add experience from higher up the football pyramid as manager Mark Beesley looks to assemble a squad capable of challenging for promotion again in 2022/23.
He will replace former Yellows keeper Dan Atherton, who recently left the club to pursue an opportunity in the Welsh Premier League.
On his decision to join, Thompson said: “I’ve got to say that Willo had a big influence. It’s so local to where I’m from, it’s ideal.
“The club just missed out last year, and with the additions that they’re making, I don’t see why we can’t push on this season.

“I know all about the club. I’ve watched the results for the past two or three seasons because I’ve got a lot of friends who have come here and played.
“It’s perfect really. When I met Bees, I got a real feel for the club. It’s a lot like Altrincham really.
“I’ve had a really good couple of seasons in the National League with my shot-stopping and coming for crosses.
“I’ve got quite a presence, and I think my distribution can really help us this season.”
The Yellows are back in pre-season action on Tuesday 5 July, away at Skelmersdale United, before returning home to Cantilever Park to face Tranmere Rovers on Saturday 9 July. View our full pre-season schedule here.
