Squad update ahead of Ashton United clash

Warrington Town would like to provide an update on the squad ahead of this weekend’s trip to Ashton United.

Goalkeeper Jamie Jones has been released to explore a full-time opportunity with an EFL Championship club.

The 36-year-old joined the club last month and made three appearances, featuring against FC United, Prescot and Bamber Bridge.

Regular number one Liam Isherwood made a return to action following injury in Tuesday’s game at Cleethorpes Town, his first appearance since the win over Rushall in mid-December.

Liam Brazier, who last featured in the draw away at FC United, has now returned to Port Vale after making a total of 26 appearances for the Yellows, scoring once in the win over Guiseley in October.

The club would like to thank both players for their efforts and wish them all the best for the future.

Reece Daly was substituted in first half injury time against Cleethorpes having suffered a concussion, which will now rule him out of action for 21 days through concussion protocols.

Troy Bourne picked up his 10th yellow card of the season in the same match, and will be suspended for two matches, starting with next Saturday’s home game against Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The club has appealed the red card issued to striker Kallan Murphy on Tuesday night. If the appeal is unsuccessful, he will be banned for three matches - Stocksbridge (H), Guiseley (A) and Hyde United (H).

Both Bourne and Murphy will be available for selection for this weekend’s trip to Ashton United.
