Warrington Town kicked off their pre-season campaign with a comfortable 7-0 win at Skelmersdale United.
With manager Paul Carden absent through illness, the Yellows had a different line-up in either half, with only Mitch Duggan playing the full 90 minutes.
There was a very familiar feel to the side in the first half, with the only new face being left-back Louis Barnes, whose signing from Nantwich Town was confirmed on the morning of the game.
The other 10 players were all part of the squad that won the Northern Premier League play-offs last season.
Jack Dunn opened the scoring on 13 minutes, hitting a fierce left foot shot past the ‘keeper, and five minutes later striker Connor McCarthy doubled the lead with a tidy low finish from the edge of the box.
Tony Gray curled in a beauty from the left corner of the box to make it three, before McCarthy added his second on the stroke of half time after a scramble in the goalmouth.
Stand-in boss Mark Beesley made 10 changes at half time, bringing on new signings Alex Byrne and Scott Sephton, while first-teamers Josh Amis and Dylan Vassallo also got a run-out.
A number of trialists got their chance to shine, and one of them made an immediate impact, latching on to a through ball over the top to steer the ball past the ‘keeper.
It took a while for the Yellows to find a further break through, but it finally came on 73 minutes when Amis was released through the middle and he shot past the diving ‘keeper.
Amis could have had a couple more before he did grab a second, heading home from Byrne’s cross, while Byrne himself was also denied by some desperate defending and fine goalkeeping in the final quarter.
Warrington are next in action away at Wythenshawe Town on Saturday, before welcoming Football League side Accrington Stanley to Cantilever Park on Monday.
