Report: Warrington Town Women 0-3 Mossley Hill

The Yellows returned to league action and welcomed Mossley Hill from Merseyside to Warrington in the last game of their three-game homestand.

Results had not been going Town’s way recently after exiting two cups in two consecutive weeks. League success had not been apparent either after only winning one game from five.

The same could not be said for Mossley Hill who previously knocked NWWRFL Premier team Curzon Ashton out of the ADPC, and bagged three wins and one draw from six games.

Khadeeja Rhoden opened the scoring for the Maroons just after the start of the second half.

Ceri Ogdon doubled the visitors’ lead not long after the first goal and a neat finish from top scorer Olivia Ellinson in the 90th minute sealed the win for the Merseyside club.

Yellows dominated the first half with lots of possession but struggled to put the ball in the net when it was worked forwards.

Warrington welcome newly-promoted Wirral Phoenix and will look to bag some much-needed points against a Merseyside team who has had a decent start in their new league.
