Goals from Connor Woods and Sam Gill fired Warrington Town through to the next round of the Cheshire Senior Cup with a 2-1 win at Cammell Laird.
An unusually strong Yellows side took to the field in the county competition, with skipper Josh Amis a notable inclusion, making his first appearance since the play-off final.
They had to remain patient against a gutsy Cammell Laird side, who provided a sterner test than their mid-table league position four divisions below would suggest.
Woods shot right in to the top corner at the end of the first half to break the deadlock, and then Gill’s left-foot curler from 25 yards bounced awkwardly in front of ‘keeper Will Ebbrell to double the Yellows lead on 69 minutes.

Substitute Richard Ley drilled a low shot through a ruck of bodies in the final 10 minutes to keep the hosts in it, but Dan Atherton remain untroubled.
The Yellows used the game as a useful run-out after having a Saturday off at the weekend and it was a chance for the likes of Aaron Bennett to stake their claim for a first team spot.
Former Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom had his second outing, while Gill was making his debut for his hometown club, having featured for the Under 21s earlier this season.
Three of his Under 21s team-mates made the bench too, and Connor McAuley looked sharp when he was introduced in the closing stages.
Matty Grivosti, who played the full 90 minutes, came closest other than the goals, rattling the crossbar after a good run by Bennett.
