Warrington Town toiled in the Oxfordshire heat as they were beaten 3-0 by Banbury United.
The writing was on the wall early on as the Yellows conceded twice in the opening 15 minutes to Ken Charles and Aidan Elliott-Wheeler, with Charles adding a second soon after the break to kill the game as a contest.
In truth, there was never much of a contest about the games as the Yellows never really got going following a long journey in the heat.
They failed to build on the boost from Tuesday night’s dramatic late equaliser against Spennymoor and trailed inside five minutes, when Ken Charles lashed in to the top corner at the near post.

Banbury were a threat down the left with the excellent Elliott-Wheeler and Louis Hall, and the former was able to sweep home a second after the Yellows had failed to clear Jack Tompkins cross from the right.
A drinks break due to the heat failed to spur the Yellows in to life and they nearly went three behind before the break when Charles fired Emmanuel Maja’s cross in to the side netting.
Half time didn’t cause a change of momentum either and six minutes after the re-start, it was 3-0. Tompkins pulled a cross field ball out of the air, beat Andy White and crossed in for Charles to head home at the back post.

The game could have been ended there and then, as the Yellows failed to register a shot on goal – a deflected Sean Williams shot that skimmed the bar and a Bohan Dixon header wide the closest they came.
It was a fourth defeat in five for the Yellows, whose focus turns to the FA Cup next week with the visit of Curzon Ashton.
