Warrington Town are back at Cantilever Park this evening as they prepare to welcome Whitby Town in the Northern Premier League.
Following last weekend’s victory away to Marske United, the Yellows are now unbeaten in 14 consecutive matches, and will be keen to kick on to maintain their momentum heading into the business end of the season.
The two sides last met in November at the Turnbull Ground, with the Seasiders inflicting a 2-1 defeat on the travelling Yellows.
Since then, Whitby Town have slowly but surely progressed, going from 17th at the time of the last encounter to 13th currently. They come into the back of this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat away to Lancaster City, but the Yellows are more than aware of the threat they pose.
Town will have been boosted by a couple of additions to their regular matchday squad.
Jay Harris featured in Saturday’s clash against Marske United after returning from suspension, as did Jordan Buckley who played a full 90 minutes following a brief illness.
Despite their recent defeat, Yellows manager Mark Beesley is expecting a difficult game tonight against Whitby Town, especially with both teams coming off of long journeys at the weekend.
“They’re on a really good run of form, so it’ll be a really tough game.
“It’s always hard to go on a long trip on a Saturday and then be ready again on a Tuesday, so it’s important that we make sure we prepare in the best possible way in preparation for tonight.”
