Warrington Town will be looking to bounce back from consecutive home defeats when they welcome Leamington to the Cal.Delivery Stadium in the National League North this evening.
It will be the Yellows’ fourth straight fixture on home soil, who started the chain of fixtures off with a victory against Kidderminster Harriers, before falling to two tough losses at the hands of Farsley Celtic and most recently, Needham Market.
Leamington come into this fixture five places above Town in 14th place, but a much-needed win for Mark Beesley’s men in the first-ever meeting between the two sides would see them leapfrog the Brakes in the league table.
Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.
Full-back Murphy Bennett will be assessed ahead of tonight’s action after he was forced off in the first half of Saturday’s defeat with a hamstring problem, as will midfielder Jay Harris.
Josh Amis and Peter Clarke will be on the sidelines for the clash against Leamington as they continue to recover from their respective injuries.
Summer signing Joe Rodwell-Grant says the squad are more determined than ever to turn a corner after suffering back-to-back defeats on home soil.
After a hugely impressive 2-1 victory over Kidderminster to kick off the August Bank Holiday weekend, the Yellows fell to a late defeat to Farsley Celtic on Bank Holiday Monday and compounded that setback with a 2-1 loss last time out against Needham Market.
“After the Needham game, we spoke collectively as a group and said that a result like the one on Saturday, and the manner in which we conceded sloppy goals, can’t happen again,” said Rodwell-Grant.
“We all know that, and we’re more than determined to put things right on Tuesday and the games to come after that.
“The camaraderie in the team is good. We have belief in the squad and know that we’re a group full of good players. We came off at the weekend thinking, ‘we made mistakes that we didn’t need to, and we should’ve been winning a match like that’.
“We’ve found ourselves in a little bit of a rut, but it’s a rut that we want to get out of in these next few games.”
