Preview: Warrington Town vs Hereford

Warrington Town welcome Hereford to Cantilever Park this Saturday for their final home fixture of the National League North season.

The Yellows will be keen to end their recent woes on home soil with a victory before celebrating with the fans to mark a successful first season in the National League North.

Town will also be hoping to avenge their 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Whites back in December, as they look to round out the campaign as high up the table as possible.

Midfielder Jay Harris will serve the final game of his three-match ban after picking up a red card against Scunthorpe United, and will therefore miss out on Saturday’s clash against Hereford.

There are no fresh injury concerns for Mark Beesley’s squad following last weekend’s 1-1 draw away at Tamworth.

Warrington Town manager Mark Beesley states that his team are ready to overturn their recent struggles at home by sending the Cantilever Park faithful into the off-season in high spirits.

Support for the club has been incredible throughout the 2023/24 campaign, with an average of 1,169 supporters in attendance at home, and Beesley is eager to reward their support with a victory.

Standing in their way is a Hereford side who must take all three points to keep their dreams of securing a playoff spot alive, and the Yellows boss is under no illusions about the threat that they pose.

“We want to try and finish the season off strongly with a positive result and a good performance at home,” Beesley stated.

“The last few home games haven’t been great in front of fans who have been absolutely fantastic all season.

“Our average has been around 1,100 so to have that support week in, week out has been outstanding.

“We want to show our appreciation with a good performance and hopefully a win.

“[Hereford] are a really good team. The front two are very, very lively – Andy Williams has been and still is an excellent player and Jason Cowley caused us a lot of problems in the away game.

“It’s going to be a tough game like all of them are, but it’s another opportunity to test ourselves against another big club in this league.”
