Warrington Town return to action this Saturday as they welcome FC United of Manchester to Cantilever Park in the Northern Premier League.
The Yellows bowed out of the FA Cup at the second qualifying round stage away at Hyde United last time out, and will look to bounce back quickly as the focus returns to league matters this weekend.
Mark Beesley’s side are currently 11th in the league table, four places above FC United with a game in hand, but it promises to be a tough challenge for both sides in front of a sizable crowd.
The two sides have met on six occasions over the last three seasons, with Warrington coming away with three wins and a draw in that time.
Neither side tends to shy away from scoring when the two teams meet, as their 4-4 draw from the 2020 season shows.
Last season, the Yellows won home and away against Neil Reynolds’ side.
Town began the 2021/22 campaign with a 2-0 victory over the Reds on home soil, while Josh Amis was the difference in February as his stoppage time strike sealed a dramatic 1-0 win in the reverse fixture.
Young defender Josh Seary admits Warrington Town need to take their chances against FC United if they want to come away with all three points.
And despite their exit from the FA Cup last weekend, the 18-year-old has full faith that his side can bounce back quickly.
“We’re playing really well, but we’re just giving freak goals away and struggling to put the ball in the back of the net,” he said.
“But once we click and things start going for us, I’m confident that we can go on a really good run.
“I know what the squad is like, I know what we’re capable of and I know that we can beat any team in this league.”
