Preview: Warrington Town vs Brackley Town

Warrington Town will look to bounce back after their defeat to Spennymoor Town in midweek when Brackley Town visit Cantilever Park on Saturday in the National League North.

The Yellows were on the end of a tough 2-0 defeat away in the north-east on Tuesday and will be hoping to recover this weekend against Brackley, in what will be the first of three consecutive home fixtures for Town.

Mark Beesley’s side were bested 2-0 away at Brackley Town in September, and it is shaping up to be another challenging encounter for the Yellows, with Saturday’s visitors currently four points ahead in the league table up in seventh place.

Captain Josh Amis featured as a substitute in Tuesday’s defeat at Spennymoor and is in contention to go back into the starting line-up for Saturday’s clash with the Saints.

Midfielders Matty McDonald and Jay Harris will be assessed ahead of tomorrow’s fixture, after they were left out of the starting 11 in midweek due to minor injuries.

Andy White preview

Yellows left-back Andy White is expecting to face another tricky clash against Brackley this weekend following their defeat away at Spennymoor on Tuesday.

The Yellows, who are in the middle of perhaps their most congested fixture period to date, saw their six-game unbeaten run come to an end at Brewery Field, but White says that despite the busy schedule, his side needs to be at the top of their game if they are to come away with a result this Saturday.

“The heavy pitch at Curzon on Saturday, followed by a quick turnaround to Spennymoor on Tuesday, was always going to be difficult,” White said.

“Spennymoor recently made a bunch of signings and usually hang around the play-offs. We know the strength of this league and every game is a battle for points.

“We know Brackley can mix it up, so expect a physical battle with some quality play. The league table doesn’t lie, so we need high-performance levels to get something from the game.”
