Warrington Town face a tough test this weekend as they welcome Bamber Bridge to Cantilever Park in the Northern Premier League.
The Yellows extended their unbeaten run to 15 games following Tuesday night’s 2-2 draw against Whitby Town at home, though they would have been disappointed to concede a late goal to the visitors who were down to 10 men.
Bamber Bridge come into this fixture in fifth place, level on points with Town but with a game in hand. They have only lost once in their past 12 league fixtures.
Having ran out 3-2 victors in the reverse fixture at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium, they will be keen to complete a league double over the Yellows and leapfrog them in the table.
The Yellows will be boosted by the return of striker Josh Amis to the matchday squad after returning from a back injury.
There are no other fresh injury concerns for Town.
Manager Mark Beesley is hoping the crowd can help the Yellows go up another gear as they prepare for a difficult assignment on home soil against Bamber Bridge.
“The support has been great all season, home and away,” he said.
“We had a great support at Marske, and the more people who get behind the boys on Saturday, the better.
“It’s a big game, but when we play a direct rival it becomes a massive game.”
Midfielder Sean Williams says morale in the Warrington Town squad is high after they extended their unbeaten run to a club record 15 matches.
Despite failing to press their advantage in midweek, he believes the Yellows are in a good position ahead of the clash against fellow promotion hopefuls Bamber Bridge.
“The group is really tight, so if you’re coming in you need to be a special character as well as a special footballer.
“This league is unforgivable, a tough challenge no matter where you are in the league. We just want to keep playing well and getting more wins on the board.
“We back ourselves, and we hope that the fans will back us against anyone at this level.”
