Warrington Town embark on their final fixture of the season on Saturday as they travel to Rushall Olympic in the National League North.
The Yellows will be aiming to end their first-ever season at Step 2 on a high following last weekend’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Hereford in their last home outing.
Mark Beesley’s side will make the journey to Walsall this weekend as they look to complete a league double over Rushall Olympic after Jordan Buckley’s last-minute strike clinched a 2-1 victory over the Pics back in November.
Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.
The Yellows will be without the services of forward Matt Grivosti following the red card he incurred against Hereford last weekend.
However, they will be boosted by the return of midfielder Jay Harris who comes back into the fold after serving a three-match suspension.
Warrington Town captain Josh Amis has reflected on a successful first season in the National League North and believes that his side can build on the foundations that they’ve set to kick on in their next campaign.
The skipper found himself back on the scoresheet for the first time since New Year’s Day in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Hereford, his seventh in a season which has seen him battle through the pain barrier to help his side.
Now, Amis wants to reward the Yellows fans for their fantastic support in their maiden campaign at Step 2 with a final-day victory away at Rushall.
“It’s been a good season. I think that with a few additional lads we could’ve maybe pushed a little bit further up the table,” Amis admitted.
“We’ve been stretched at times – I think that’s no secret – but the objective was to stay in the league and I think the lads have done a great job of that.
“A few good additions this summer would really strengthen us and help us kick on.
“I’d personally like to thank all the fans. They’ve been great all season, home and away,” the skipper added.
“It’s nice to see so many familiar faces and new ones reaping the rewards of big away days, which in this league come more often than the last few years.
“I hope they enjoy the last game, and hopefully we’ll see them again next season.”
