Warrington Town return to Emirates FA Cup action this weekend!
The Yellows will travel north to visit Northern Premier League rivals Morpeth Town in the first qualifying round on Saturday.
With a cup run offering lucrative rewards for lower-league clubs, it promises to be an intriguing encounter as the two sides do battle for the second time this season.
The sides have already met once in 2022/23, with the Yellows claiming a 2-0 win at Cantilever Park on the opening weekend of the Northern Premier League season.
Late goals from Isaac Buckley-Ricketts and Jordan Buckley sealed all three points for Mark Beesley’s side on that afternoon.
However, it was the Highwaymen who triumphed 2-0 at Craik Park back in March, and they also knocked the Yellows out of the FA Trophy on penalties last November.
Mikey Howard hopes to see the club enjoy a fairytale run in the FA Cup this season.
The club famously reached the second round proper back in 2014/15, defeating League Two Exeter City 1-0 in the first round in front of a sold-out Cantilever Park.
That was the Yellows’ first appearance at the first round stage of the competition, and Howard is eager to replicate that success again this season.
“With the quality that we have in the team, I believe we could do very well in this competition,” he said.
Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup fixture at Craik Park kicks off at 3:00pm. Match tickets are priced as follows:
