Warrington Town travel to face Hyde United in the FA Cup second qualifying round this weekend.
The Yellows booked their place at this stage of the competition after overcoming Morpeth Town in a first qualifying round replay at Cantilever Park, while Hyde progressed after sweeping aside Warrington Rylands 4-0.
Saturday’s trip to Ewen Fields will see Mark Beesley’s side come up against an in-form Tigers outfit looking for a fourth successive win in all competitions.
It promises to be an intriguing cup fixture, with a place in the third qualifying round on the line.
Each of the last four fixtures between these two sides have been won by the home side.
The Yellows had led at Ewen Fields last season, but a Matty Regan red card saw the game swing in favour of the hosts, who sealed all three points thanks to two late goals.
There was more drama when the Tigers visited Cantilever Park in November, with an 89th minute winner from Luke Duffy proving to be the difference.
Warrington Town must be at their very best if they want to progress in the FA Cup this weekend, says captain Josh Amis.
He admits it will be a difficult trip to Ewen Fields, but he insists his side are more than capable of rising to the challenge.
“Hyde have had a strong start, but I think we need to concentrate on ourselves,” he said.
“If we come with a good intensity and the lads are on it, we can go far.”
“It’s a knockout competition and anyone can beat anyone on the day, but with the group of lads we have, I think we can do well in it.”
Saturday’s FA Cup clash at Ewen Fields kicks off at 3:00pm. Match tickets are available to purchase at the turnstiles and are priced as follows:
