Preview: Hereford vs Warrington Town

Warrington Town face a mid-week trip to Hereford this evening in the National League North.

The hunt for an important three points continues, with the Yellows taking to the field for the first time since last Tuesday after their trip to Spennymoor Town was postponed due to poor weather conditions.

Hereford, meanwhile, will aim to make it three wins in a row and six wins from their last seven fixtures. Paul Carden's side will be hoping to draw upon their previous meeting with the Bulls, as his side picked up all three points in a 2-0 victory back in October.

Below, we've compiled everything you need to know ahead of tonight's fixture.

Defender Matthew Makinson is in line to make his second appearance for the Yellows, nearly seven years after making his debut.

The 26-year-old played in the play-off semi-final defeat to Grantham Town under Paul Carden in May 2018, and has recently linked back up with the club following spells in Australia and in Ireland with Finn Harps.

The 6’3” centre-back, who came through the academy system at Blackburn, comes in with defenders Peter Clarke, Evan Gumbs and Andy White all still sidelined through injury.

Skipper Josh Amis is also still out injured, while Murphy Bennett will have a late fitness test on a knee issue, so Craig Noone could again be named among the substitutes.
