Preview: Cleethorpes Town vs Warrington Town

Warrington Town make the 260-mile round trip to Cleethorpes Town in the Northern Premier League this evening.

The Yellows will be hoping to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to fellow promotion-chasing Bamber Bridge at the Cal.Delivery Stadium on Saturday.

This evening's trip to Lincolnshire will be their first visit to the Owls' home ground, after the initial scheduled trip over three weeks ago was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.

The two sides met on the opening day of the 2025/26 season, with neither side able to break the 0-0 stalemate in Warrington.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be a precautionary pitch inspection at 2pm ahead of tonight’s trip to Cleethorpes Town.

Below, we've compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Team news

Liam Isherwood is set to return in goal for the first time since he suffered an injury in the win over Rushall Olympic in mid-December.

Liam Brazier has now returned to Port Vale following his loan spell.

Warrington Town saw their seven-match unbeaten run come to a disappointing end on Saturday.

Yellows were well beaten by fellow play-off chasers Bamber Bridge, who are now responsible for two of their three losses on home soil this season having won 3-0 in the FA Cup this year.

Olly Molloy netted in either half for the visitors as Paul Carden's men fell to their first defeat of the calendar year.

After the game, Carden admitted his side got what they deserved from the game but that while Bamber Bridge were the dominant side, he insists they were helped by his own team's shortcomings.

"We helped them on their way," he said.

"Some of the performances individually in the first half made it difficult for us to get anything collectively.

"I felt Kal Murphy did well for the 90 – he won his fair share, he made it stick and tried to bring people into play but I don’t think he got the support to hurt them.

"There’s a lot of things you can pick at in terms of the result today – a bit of our poor play and performance and Bamber Bridge playing well.

"The front two are a big handful and we never really got to grips with it.

"When it goes into them and it sticks and they’ve got runners around them, it’s hard but we had opportunities from that but we were very wasteful when we did win the ball back high up.

"Defensively, we’ve been sound and solid over the last month or so but the goals today were poor.

"Our performance was poor and we have to bounce back."
