PREVIEW: Brackley Town v Warrington Town

The Yellows feature in the FA Cup third qualifying round as they travel to St James Park to face Brackley Town.

Warrington return to league action on Tuesday October 8 to face Lancaster City at Cantilever Park.

Paul Carden’s side came from behind to defeat FC United of Manchester 2-1 to progress through to the FA Cup third round qualifying.

Skipper Mark Roberts headed the winner 20 minutes from time after Mitch Duggan had quickly responded to FC United’s first half opener through Regan Linney.

In the league, Warrington most recently drew 1-1 at Flamingo Land Stadium against Scarborough Athletic.

Scott Sephton scored his first goal for the club, but Boro quickly hit back through Chris Dawson’s well hit strike which saw a share of the spoils at full-time with a goalless second half.

Brackley Town feature in the Vanarama National League North, where they sit in the play-offs in fifth position with six wins.

Kevin Wilkin’s side defeated Cinderford Town 4-0 to progress to this round of the FA Cup.

HEAD TO HEAD

It will be the first meeting between the two sides this weekend.

The Saints have lost just once in their last ten league games with an unbeaten home record, whilst midfielder James Armson was awarded with the league’s player of the month for September.

Brackley have scored 22 goals in their last four games, including an 8-0 win over Bradford in the league.

Last season, the Yellows progressed through to the fourth qualifying round before a defeat in a replay match against FC Halifax Town at The Shay.
