Preview: Alfreton Town vs Warrington Town

Warrington Town make the journey to Derbyshire this Saturday as they take on Alfreton Town in the National League North.

The Yellows sit nine points adrift of safety following their 2-0 defeat to Scarborough Athletic on Tuesday.

Paul Carden's side will visit the Impact Arena this weekend in search of a desperately needed three points. The visitors also aim to end a run of four consecutive league defeats.

Below, we've compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Team news

Paul Carden will be without the services of Bohan Dixon, as the midfielder begins the first of a three-match suspension for the red card he incurred against Chorley.

Talks have been ongoing with Rotherham United regarding the extension of Hamish Douglas' loan spell.

The club are also hopeful of completing a new signing ahead of tomorrow's trip to Alfreton Town.

Paul Carden preview

Warrington Town manager Paul Carden insists that his side must rally themselves from within if they are to recouperate from the position that they currently find themselves in.

The Yellows sit nine points adrift of safety in the relegation zone with 12 games remaining.

Regardless of relying on results from teams in and around them, Carden wants his players to motivate each other as they look to avoid the drop come the end of the season.

"[36 points] is a big number of points [to play for], isn't it?" Carden said.

"Stranger things have happened when you're in football. I said it on Saturday - we can't be dependent on other teams.

"We're in a situation where there's a lot of points to play for, and before we end up reliant on other results to try and get us somewhere, we have to try and take ownership of where we're at and try to force our way out of it.

"I know it's not been an easy season for a lot of the players. Some of them are really not used to it.

"But if they want to get out of it, the lads are going to have to muster it from within, and I've got to find a way to drive that home.

"When you're a footballer, everything is from within, your own drive.

"But there are times where we need to pick each other up, we need to lead each other and drive each other because if we're just going to leave each other to our own devices, then it doesn't happen that way - we've got to be together."
