Pitch inspection ahead of Stockport Senior Cup clash

There will be a pitch inspection at 1pm tomorrow ahead of the scheduled Cheshire Senior Cup tie against Stockport County on Tuesday night.

The entire pitch has been covered in snow until lunchtime today (pictured above at 3pm), and is frozen underneath, and we have been unable to access the pitch to do any work on it since the game against King’s Lynn Town on Saturday January 4.

At the request of the opposing team, the match referee has been instructed to undertake a pitch inspection.

If passed, there is the possibility the game may be required to be played behind closed doors, unless the police are happy for it to go ahead without segregation.

This is due to burst pipes as a result of the freezing weather conditions which currently have the toilet facilities in the away end of the ground out of action.

We will provide an update following the inspection on Tuesday afternoon.
