Murphy Bennett unveiled as fifth summer signing

Warrington Town have completed the signing of versatile young defender Murphy Bennett, formerly with Forest Green Rovers.

Bennett, 19, has featured for the Yellows throughout pre-season in a variety of positions, including right-back and left-back, as well as a wide midfielder.

He was previously in the youth system at Manchester City and had a spell on loan in National League North with Gloucester City last season.

Bennett said: “I think the friendlies have gone well. The team have gelled well together, and personally I think I’ve done well so far.

“I want to play as much as I can this season and strive for the ambitions that the club have set.

“I get along with all the lads really well, and they’ve made me feel at home straight away.”

Bennett, who has also represented Wales at Under 18s level, follows the signings of Bohan Dixon, Ollie Southern, Joe Rodwell-Grant and Josh Miles this summer at the Cal.Delivery Stadium.
