Warrington Town midfielder Mitch Duggan says he’s ready for a “good test” against Chorley this Saturday at Cantilever Park in a pre-season fixture.
The clash, scheduled for a 3:00pm kick-off, will be manager Paul Carden’s final preparations ahead of the Pitching In Northern Premier League 2021/22 season.
The Yellows have faced the likes of Tranmere Rovers, Accrington Stanley and Southport so far this pre-season, and will have another tough test in National League North’s Chorley this weekend.
Duggan said: “The games have been good and the gaffer has tried to give the lads as many minutes as possible to try and get us up to speed as fast as possible, within reason of course.
“I’ve never played against Chorley before but of course they’re in a league above so it’ll be a good test, but they’re the type of teams we want to be playing against next season so it’s a good test.
“Although it’s the last pre-season friendly, the lads will treat it like a league game to make sure we’re ready for next week.”
The 2021/22 season will see the return of fans across all football leagues, with just eight days until the league campaign kicks-off as Warrington Town host FC United of Manchester in the opening round.
Supporters can still purchase their season tickets online, allowing access to all 21 league home fixtures.
On fans, Duggan added, “It helps the lads a lot when we turn up and there’s big numbers watching it. It makes it a better game to play in and I’m sure there’ll be a big gate for the FC United game, so we’re all looking forward to it.”
