Warrington Town manager Mark Beesley believes their 1-1 draw at Gainsborough Trinity could prove to be a vital result come the end of the season.
The Yellows took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Josh Amis headed home Jay Harris’ cross to score his third goal in as many matches.
With an hour on the clock, an unfortunate own-goal from Bohan Dixon levelled the contest, and despite the Holy Blues finishing the game well, neither side could find a winner.
It means Town have picked up four points this week from two difficult away games, following an impressive 4-0 victory over Morpeth Town on Tuesday night.

“After the last 10-15 minutes, they were coming on strong so we’ll probably take a point. It ends up being a good point,” Beesley said post-match.
“For the first 15 of the second half, I think we were in control. We needed to be better and find that second goal.
“To be fair to them, they got a bit of a lucky goal, but after that they got themselves in the ascendancy a little bit and caused us a few problems.
“It’s a really poor goal from our point of view. I know it’s a great ball in, and it’s taken a deflection, hit Bohan and crept in.
“It’s little things like giving away silly free-kicks and putting ourselves under pressure when we’re winning a game.
“We didn’t do that as well as we should have today, and that’s probably why we’ve not come away with three points.”
It proved to be an entertaining affair at the Northolme, with two promotion-chasing rivals going toe-to-toe in search of a crucial three points.
Saturday’s result leaves the Yellows third in the Northern Premier League table, with Gainsborough occupying the final play-off spot, three points further back.

“Today was a good advert for this league,” Beesley added.
“Two good teams trying to play the right way and trying to move the ball quickly on a nice pitch.
“A point on the road isn’t bad, but at this stage of the season, we’ve got to try and win every game.
“We tried to win today but unfortunately we couldn’t. But if we can’t win, we need to make sure we don’t lose.”
