Warrington Town striker Jordan Buckley is hoping to finish the 2022/23 campaign strongly after making his long-awaited return from injury last weekend.
Last season’s top scorer hadn’t featured since suffering an ankle injury against Nantwich Town at the end of August.
However, he came on as a second half substitute in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Stalybridge Celtic.

Speaking after that match, Yellows manager Mark Beesley urged caution in terms of the workload handed to Buckley as he continues his journey back to full fitness.
“It felt good to finally get back out there after a few months,” he said. “There’s nothing worse than not being involved and watching from the sidelines.
“I can’t wait to get back fully fit and hopefully see out the rest of the season and stay injury-free.”
Following the recent departure of joint-top scorer Connor Woods back to parent club Southport, and with captain Josh Amis serving a three-match ban and Mikey Howard ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury, Buckley and Isaac Buckley-Ricketts are currently the club’s only two central strikers.
Buckley insists he feels no extra pressure in his side’s quest for more threat in the final third.
“I don’t really think too much into it,” he said.

“Obviously it’s my job as a striker to score, but I just need to try and work hard and be in right place at the right time.”
With a long trip to Morpeth Town on the horizon, Buckley is hopeful that a return to winning ways will come sooner rather than later.
“It will be a difficult place to go – it always is,” the 26-year-old admitted.
“They’re a good team, but I’m confident that we can get back to winning ways after the last game.”
