Injury update ahead of Darlington clash

Warrington Town physio Allie O’Neill has provided an update on the current injury status within the first-team squad.

Andy White has sustained an ankle fracture and will not play for the rest of the season, joining Evan Gumbs (groin tear) and Elliot Morris (knee) as long-term absentees.

Morris is due to have an operation on a meniscus tear, while Gumbs may require surgery depending on the progress of his rehab.

Loan forward Ben Hatton has returned to Rotherham United after he picked up a high grade hamstring injury against Oxford City on Saturday, also ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.

Fellow loanee Hamish Douglas has been managing his training schedule and games due to swelling caused by shin splints.

Josh Amis (groin), Jay Harris (knee) and Bohan Dixon (calf) are all carrying knocks that will be assessed game-to-game.

Dana Amaral picked up an ankle knock in the recent game against Crewe Alexandra but is hoping to be in contention for Saturday’s game, while Lee Williams took a knock against Oxford and has been assessed by his parent club Stockport County this week, with a view to featuring against Darlington.

Devarn Green was forced off against Stalybridge Celtic on Tuesday night with an Achilles problem, while Ollie Southern reported big toe pain caused by a splinter, with both also being assessed ahead of the Darlington match.

Joe Ackroyd’s loan deal from Guiseley runs out after this Saturday’s game, and with them battling for the Northern Premier League play-offs, he will remain with them for the rest of the season.
