How the cost of living crisis is affecting non-league clubs

Recently, Global Player visited Cantilever Park to investigate how the cost of living crisis is affecting non-league football clubs in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chairman Toby Macormac took time to explain how it had impacted Warrington Town.

As well as outlining the club’s role in the local community and the importance of supporters, Macormac also discussed how results on the pitch over recent months have impacted finances.

“We’re part of a big piece of the community,” he said. “It’s the third-biggest town in the UK with no Football League club, and that’s where we’re aspiring to get to.

“We need the people of town behind us, and recently they have been.

“Attendances are up 20% season-on-season, and it’s just a great place to come.”
