Warrington Town defender Dec Walker admits the squad need to ensure their preparations are spot on ahead of this weekend’s 394-mile round trip to Bishop’s Stortford.
The Yellows travel to the R&D Stadium on Saturday, looking to extend their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions after coming from two goals down to rescue a remarkable point at home to South Shields last time out.
The journey down south will be a long one, Walker admits, but he says the players are well-equipped to get themselves in the right frame of mind ahead of kick-off.
“Everyone knows what they need to do to get ready for those long away trips,” he said.

“I’ve got to thank the chairman, Toby, for putting on a brilliant coach. Preparation is always key – it’s about an hour longer than some of the other away trips that we do, but hopefully we can go there, pick up the three points and get back home.”
The Yellows will visit a Blues side that currently sit third-bottom in the National League North table with 10 points from their opening 12 matches – five fewer than Town’s currently tally.
However, all three of their wins so far have come at home and Walker admits the squad cannot afford to take anything for granted ahead of the fixture.
“There are no easy games in this league, as we’ve already seen,” he added.

“Everyone beats everyone at this level, so if you turn up at half-mast, you’re not going to get the results that you’ve trained so hard for.
“We need to be on it for every game. It doesn’t matter if they’re top of the league or bottom of the division – every match is tough in this league and we have to bring our A-game.”
