Warrington Town forward Connor Woods feels that the plan to build momentum still rings true ahead of Paul Carden’s first game back in charge of the club away at Chorley.
Due to the absence of FA Cup action, the Yellows have had a two-week break since their last game against Spennymoor Town at the Cal.Delivery Stadium.
In that time, Mark Beesley was replaced by Paul Carden, who returned for his second managerial stint at the club after just under three years away.
While a change of management can be a busy time for players, Woods believes that the transition has been a seamless one as the Yellows prepare for a run of three straight away games in all competitions.

On Carden’s return, the 26-year-old said: “Nothing drastic has changed, to be honest. We’ve just tweaked certain things on how we can be better at scoring goals and staying solid at the back.
“I think everyone is ready to go again after the week off.”
Woods has netted three times in 10 games this season, including two in the last two against Radcliffe and Spennymoor.
Set-pieces have been his specialty so far this season – something which has surprised even Woods himself!
“I’ve always had a little go in training, but never really thought about wanting them until this season,” he admitted.
“It’s started off quite well, so hopefully there will be many more to come. From a personal point of view, it’s always nice to contribute with a goal, no matter how I score it.”
Woods will be aiming to make it three straight games on the scoresheet at Victory Park this Saturday as Carden takes his players to face high-flying Chorley.
The Yellows picked up three points on their last visit to the Magpies, with Woods scoring the only goal of the game back in August 2023.

Town have already taken points from Scunthorpe United and Kidderminster Harriers, two of the stronger sides in the division, and Woods feels that playing against bigger-name teams is something that the squad have really embraced.
“It’s always good playing against sides who are doing well, as it makes you want to give that extra ten percent out on the pitch,” he added.
“The plan is always to win games and try to build momentum, no matter what is going on off the field.
“I think the main focus is for everyone to have confidence in each other so we can kick on and show what we can do.”
